Craig Currie
Craig Currie has served the entertainment industry for the past 16 years, quickly becoming an expert in many aspects of special effects and prop making. Some of his earliest work has been featured in such major motion pictures as Air Force One and Titanic. A current list of his completed projects is featured at IMDB.com
As his skills developed in industrial design, architecture, and fabrication he also focused on developing his business acumen. This unique combination of skills in business and creative environments is what truly sets him and SCPS apart.
Craig was first noticed for his talents at the age of 16 where his award-winning model airplane designs created quite a buzz. At 18 the world- renowned architecture firm Moore Rubel Yudel discovered him, and he was invited to run their prestigious model making studio. Craig continues to expand his knowledge base into the 3D/Computer Generated world, and applies all of this every single day while leading the SCPS team.
James Schexnaydre
James Schexnaydre is an accomplished propmaker, designer, shop foreman and coordinator. He has worked hard to build and maintain his reputation for resourcefulness, creativity and dependability.
He began his career working for The Children’s Television Workshop in 1989. He proceeded to manage in-house prop shops for numerous children’s and sketch comedy television shows. He served as the prop-designer and fabricator for The Amanda Show, The Keenan Ivory Wayans Show, Crank Yankers, and the Man Show. He continued to grow within the industry as the prop shop foreman for the feature film, Team America: World Police.
James was introduced to the world of building and fabrication while growing up in Louisiana. His father’s hobby, architectural salvage, renovation and home-moving, provided fertile ground for James to develop impressive fabrication skills from a young age. He enriched these skills and developed more while earning his degree in Visual Arts from Southwestern Louisiana University. There he received a strong foundation in fine arts and advertising design. His work has been published in Print Magazine’s 1989 Illustration Annual. His keen eye for aesthetics and design are greatly utilized as a leader of the SCPS team.
Samantha Currie
After graduating from UCLA, Samantha Currie immediately put her Business Administration degree to work in the entertainment industry. She set out to work for a growing cable distribution division of the WB Television Network, now known as The CW.
For over eight years she developed her career in finance and administration, managing budgets and financial applications, while expanding her skill set in the business of the entertainment industry. She now brings her exceptional skills to SCPS overseeing all financial and administrative affairs for the team.
Paul Porter
Paul Porter has spent over 20 years building his reputation as a highly respected designer and fabricator in the L.A. Film and Television industry. His extensive experience, working on more than 30 feature films and hundreds of commercials, has refined his superb talents and brought forth from him incredible improvisational problem solving ability.
Paul started as a Theatre Design student at Southern Methodist University. It is there, while earning his BFA, that he discovered his love of design and fabrication. According to Paul, his best days are spent creating fascinating mechanical effects, exciting specialty props, and unique lighting designs.
Matthew V. Scaglione
Matt Scaglione has been studying both classical and contemporary fine arts since he attended the Huntington School of Fine Arts throughout his high school years. From there he went to Syracuse University where he studied both industrial design and sculpture. Graduating in 2007, Matt still shows sculpture and other works of art in both LA and New York.
Matt applies both his manual abilities and creativity on a daily basis at SCPS, where he serves as operations coordinator and project manager.
Shane Stover
Shane Stover demonstrated his extraordinary ability as an artist at a young age and began his professional career while still in his teens. While in school he earned multiple art awards, scholarships and completed many commissioned pieces. He was recognized for his ability to capture the true likeness as well as the energy of his subject.
With his graduation from San Francisco State University in 2004 (Bachelor of Arts Degree – Art and Design major), he moved to Los Angeles to further develop his art and fulfill his lifelong dream of working in the entertainment industry as an artist. Shane brought to the SCPS team a strong foundation in fine arts and expertise in illustration and painting. In line with Shane’s strong belief in continually increasing his artistic abilities, he has expanded his expertise to include concept art and 3D modeling since joining the SCPS team.
